|Budget Officer||Jerald P. Taylor, City Manager|
The Budget Committee meets for three or four times in April in the City Council Chambers. The Budget Committee is composed of the City Council and an equal number of citizens appointed by the City Council. All members of the Budget Committee have equal authority. The Budget Committee meets publicly to review the budget document as proposed by the budget officer. The Budget Committee receives the budget and budget message and provides an opportunity for the public to ask questions about and comment on the budget. The Committee also approves a budget and, if ad valorem property taxes are required, approves an amount or rate of tax for all funds that receive property taxes. The public is encouraged to attend all Committee meetings.
Meeting Schedule and Minutes
Budget Committee minutes are usually approved at the City Council’s budget hearing in June, and minutes are not posted to the website until then.
Budget Commitee minutes are posted on the website in PDF format for a period of one year (download the free Adobe Acrobat Reader, which is required to open and read PDF documents). If you would like to see agendas or minutes beyond this time frame, please contact City Hall.
